Alda Escareņo

Alda Escareño was born in Mexico City, in 1984. She has lived in Toronto most of her life but has maintained an intimate relationship with her Mexican heritage which often makes its way into her work. Crafts, comic books and travelling are integral to Alda’s day-to-day life and are a constant source of inspiration. A recent graduate of York University’s Fine Arts program, she works primarily with printmaking and illustration. Alda recently participated in the Toronto Arts Council’s 2008 Nuit Blanche project.
